In a significant move for the gaming industry, Bally's Corporation has announced that Casino Queen Marquette in Iowa will be rebranded as Bally's Marquette as part of a $21 million project. This decision comes following a historic $4.6 billion deal that saw Bally's Corporation merge with Standard General and The Queen Casino & Entertainment in 2024, a transaction completed in February 2025.

Originally known as Miss Marquette, Capri Marquette, Lady Luck, and Casino Queen Marquette, the property has a history of changing names. Now, the move inland to a permanent casino facility marks a new chapter for the casino. Robin Corbeil, Casino Queen Marquette's general manager, has welcomed the opportunity to move inland, stating that it will make the entertainment experience more accessible, comfortable, and dynamic.

The new Bally's Marquette is expected to open in the first few months of 2026, promising to welcome more guests and generate higher revenue. The renovated property will continue to honour Casino Queen Marquette's deep-rooted connection to the community, while also offering an enhanced gaming and entertainment experience.

The move inland of Casino Queen Marquette to a permanent casino facility is not unprecedented. Many casino operators have moved their properties to land-based venues following a change in legislation in 2007, making such moves possible. This move mirrors a previous rebranding of Belle of Baton Rouge to Bally's Baton Rouge.

The $21 million investment will be used to renovate the existing dockside structure that will house the new Bally's Marquette. The acquisition of Casino Queen Marquette, along with other Queen Casino & Entertainment properties, has added four casinos to Bally's portfolio. The key affected properties included DraftKings at Casino Queen in Illinois and Queen and Belle of Baton Rouge casinos in Louisiana, which have been integrated into Bally’s operations.

Bally's has also expanded its land-based portfolio through the acquisition of Eldorado Shreveport in Louisiana for $140 million and Tropicana Las Vegas for $148 million before the merger. As part of related transactions, Bally's has grown its stake in the Greek gaming technology firm Intralot to 33% and will cooperate with it further.

Bally's has confirmed the rebranding of the Marquette casino to Bally's Marquette, signifying a new era for the casino and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in its history. The name change, coupled with the move inland, promises to bring a fresh and dynamic approach to gaming and entertainment in Iowa.

The rebranding of Casino Queen Marquette to Bally's Marquette not only signals a new era for the casino but also aligns with previous renaming of Belle of Baton Rouge to Bally's Baton Rouge, showcasing a shift in casino-personalities and casino-culture. The renovated Bally's Marquette is anticipated to offer an improved gaming and entertainment experience within the casino-and-gambling industry.
