Electric vehicle manufacturer Euler Motors introduces the NEO HiRange, its latest electric automobile, in India priced at ₹3.09 lakh.
The Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, Euler Motors, is set to revolutionize urban transportation with the launch of their NEO electric auto-rickshaw platform. The new range, consisting of three models - NEO HiRANGE, NEO HiRANGE PLUS, and NEO HiRANGE MAXX - will be introduced in 50 cities across India within the next three to four months, starting from August 2025.
The base model, NEO HiRANGE, boasts a 9.6 kWh battery, offering an ARAI-certified range of 171 km and a real-world range of approximately 130 km. The NEO HiRANGE PLUS features an 11.56 kWh battery pack, providing an ARAI-certified range of 204 km and a real-world range exceeding 170 km. For those seeking even greater range, the NEO HiRANGE MAXX comes equipped with a 13.44 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 261 km and a real-world estimate of over 200 km.
Charging times for the NEO range vary, with 10 to 80 per cent chargeable in approximately 3.25 hours. Top speeds differ across models, ranging between 43 kmph and 60 kmph, depending on the driving mode selected.
The NEO platform was designed with the concerns of auto-rickshaw drivers in mind. It promises reduced operating expenses compared to traditional auto-rickshaws, addressing the long-standing issues of maintenance, longevity, and cost-effectiveness. The chassis of the NEO HiRANGE has been reinforced to ensure high-mileage use in Indian conditions.
In addition to improved performance and cost savings, the NEO platform also offers enhanced safety features. All models come equipped with hill-assist for easy driving in mixed city conditions. The NEO HiRANGE, in particular, is fitted with an anti-theft GPS system and real-time diagnostics created in-house.
Auto-rickshaws play a significant role in India's urban transport, accounting for almost one-fifth of daily trips in metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. However, they have faced challenges with reliability, range, and cost-effectiveness. Euler Motors aims to address these concerns with the NEO platform, offering cars with higher real-world range, guaranteed performance, and reduced operating expense.
The NEO range shares a common drivetrain and skateboard chassis for stability, ensuring a smooth and reliable ride for both drivers and passengers. With the launch of the NEO platform, Euler Motors is set to redefine urban transportation in India, offering a greener, more cost-effective, and safer alternative to traditional auto-rickshaws.
