Individual Causes Tragedy: Two Killed, Multiple Injured in Casino Shooting in Reno
In a shocking turn of events, a shooting incident took place at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on Monday morning. The Reno Police Department responded to a report of an active shooter at the resort at approximately 7:25am.
The incident occurred in the valet area of the Grand Sierra Resort, as witness accounts suggest. Michael Sisco, a bystander, heard gunshots and saw people fleeing the area. He described seeing a man clutch his stomach and fall to the ground, motionless.
The shooting left three people dead and several others injured. Two of the injured survivors are reportedly in critical condition, and the condition of the others is not known. A few people were treated for minor injuries at the scene and did not need hospitalization.
Officers arrived at the scene in less than three minutes and an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital, but later died from his wounds. The suspect's name and possible motive have not been released by the police.
The Grand Sierra Resort has expressed their condolences for the senseless violence that occurred in their parking area. They also praised their armed security team for their immediate actions that helped prevent further harm. The resort thanked the Reno Police Department for their swift assistance and coordination in eliminating the threat and protecting lives.
The investigation at the Grand Sierra Resort's west parking lot is still active, and people are asked to avoid the casino's west parking lot. The resort did not comment on the condition of the injured survivors.
